Biography

Tony Rino is a Calgary-based operatic tenor and recording artist who performs in opera productions, fundraisers and events. He has performed for distinguished audiences including the Prime Minister of Canada and Italy’s Ambassador to Canada. Since the late 90s, Rino’s recordings and performances have raised tens of thousands for local charities. Tony performed with the Calgary Opera Chorus, and starred on TV and radio as a narrator, host and singer, including a role on The Movie Show as the Singing Chef.

From 1996 to 2004 Tony sang National Anthems for the Calgary Flames, performing at more than 200 NHL games. He also made guest appearances as anthem singer for many other teams including the Calgary Stampeders, Calgary Hitmen, Calgary Cannons, and Calgary Vipers.

He has also performed and raised funds for The Canadian Cancer Society, Rotary International, The Royal Canadian Legion, VoicePrint and the Calgary Italian Open.

Joined by his father Joe and his son Joseph, the "3 Tenor Rinos" or "Il Rino" performed for 12 years at many charitable events. Il Rino first performed together in 2003 at the 5th Annual A Song for Rachel Benefit Concert and retired in 2015.
